Recently took my 2000 328i into the dealership for some knocking noise coming from the driver’s side rear suspension area. The dealer indicated the sub frame was separating and that it would no be covered under warranty as the vehicle had 54,000 miles, 4,000 over the standard warranty. The rep also said that tearing was common among vehicles being driven too hard or taken to the track. I bought the vehicle used and have only driven it lightly for about 12,000 miles. Looking for insight on ways to approach BMWNA and/or insurance.
