Hi everyone,
First time posting newbie here and i'm hoping to find some answer to some of the problems I have with my New-Used Bimmer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Car have no warranty so I was hoping to get my hands dirty and do what I can to save some $ as being 22 and all. :D
2002 745i with 147km. Black on black
Problem 1 - As soon as I start my car, the gauge shows "Tire Pressure Sensor Malfunction" I played with the options as TPM but i couldn't access that feature. I'm not sure if the sensor is gone and needs replacement or if i can somehow reset the error warning? I just want the message gone as it appear everytime i start the car.
Problem 2 - I'm experiencing a very loud and annoying screech on both the rear tires. I'm thinking it's the shocks or suspension and not the brakes because it screeches very loud when i go over speed bumps or even small potholes. It doesn't matter how slow i try to go over the bumps, the sounds are there. I tried lubricating all the bushings and shocks but it doesn't help. I was wondering if i have to replace my rear shock systems and how much would it cost if anyone ever had to do this before. And is it a DIY possible?
Problem 3 - Halo ring bulb went on the driver side, and stupid me, brought to the dealership and it cost me $300 to replace the first time. 3 weeks later the passenger halo side went. I then subsribe to this forum and found out how to replace it without taking the front bumper off and the bulb cost me 70 bucks on ebay. Thanks to the forum. The problem is that i bought blue colour bulbs and i wanted to know if it's street legal in canada?
Problem 4 - When i turn on the fan/ ac , the first 5 seconds stinks of smoke or some kinda smell, but after that it's perfectly fine. I opened the hood and took out the two filters under the hood by the windshield wipers and smelled it, not the same smell as what i experienced from the fan inside the car when the fans are on. (hot and cold) Is there something i can do about the smell or have the filters replace? So far i know 3 of the filters, the 2 i mentioned and the main airfitler to the engine. Is there anymore that i don't know of?
