I have a 2005 Z4 2.5i. When the top is up the interior is ridiculously loud. It sound somewhat like an airplane landing, and it's coming from the rear of the car, like the compartment where the soft-top goes in when I put the top down. Anyone else having this issue, any solutions?

Loud is a relative term. Who here knows what "loud" is to you? It's a convertible! Put the top down and a smile on your face!
If you still have the RFTs, that's 75% of the noise. Put some cushy, conventional tires on her.
Some here have put sound isolation material in their doors. It's a lot of work, but maybe that will help when the top is up.

That makes sense, as I read on more I think the tires might be the issue. Thank you...

Sounds like a fuel pump issue. My 2005 2.5 did this from some bad BP gas. When you turn the key on to position one can you hear the fuel pump howl? After it starts it should sound loud as hell from behind and underneath the car. A few tanks of good 93 shell and a bottle of Techron(same as BMW fuel treatment but rebranded)(GET AT AUTOZONE...On sale now by the way) in each tank cleared this up for me.

Change the tires, conventional summer performance, or even grand touring tires if you're not into slicing around curves every weekend.

My 2005 2.5 roadster makes no noise I would describe as "like an airplane landing." True, the tires rumble a little, and the exhaust note is pleasantly aggressive. But the car is no noisier than it should be. We can talk, enjoy music, or listen to recorded books without any problems. I think you've got a problem, though I don't know what it is.
