If you mean replacing 08 iDrive with HDD based new CICs that comes with 2010 model ... then I don't think it can be easily done. However, if you are willing to spend a lot of money, someone may be able to install the complete 2010 system in your 08 E60.
It will be cheaper to sell the 08 and buy the 2010, considering that you will lose your warranty on those parts too, if you retrofit.
