chirping suspension follow up

my X developed a chirping sound in July (22k miles) coming from the drivers front susp. I lubed the bushings as many suggested, but it didnt do a thing. Brought it to dealer who diagnosed a faulty strut -- couldnt really get any more info out of the SA. Had it replaced today and the sound is gone. Dont know if it was actually the strut or one of the connecting bushings, but everything got taken apart and put together with the new strut and its now silent. Also had a windshield chip sealed -- quite amazing how its totally gone (had to pay for that but well worth it imo). Anyway nice treatment from Mt. kisco BMW in NY.

Glad you got it fixed and under warranty. Odd that a 2008 vehicle would have a bad strut so soon, but you never know what can happen.

I dont really think there was anything wrong with the strut-- it drove perfectly, but that it was a way for the dealer to take everything apart and put it back together with loads of lube under warranty. Anyway after getting back in the car after the loaner 3er I must say I love my X
