I have the canadian non-hk six speaker system in my '04 330ci.
I want to hook up an amp to the bs cd, but unlike most people there is no junk (amp) in my trunk. So, all I have is the CD changer wiring back there and my HU (Part No. 65.12-6 927 902, H/W No. 41 and S/W No. 40) has a built in amp to power the speakers.
Searching the posts here and everywhere else I found this product to convert the speaker level outputs to RCAs. http://www.davidnavone.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=N-774V.
My question is, does my HU filter the speaker level outputs? Since there are hardly any people with this HU I doubt anyone will know this, but does anyone know how to figure out if the speaker outputs are filtered?
The other hope I had was maybe my HU puts out the same signals that go to the amp as well as the speaker outputs. Does anyone know which pins out of the back of the HU are the differential outputs that normally go to the amp?
I have a feeling that I may be in the market for a used HU pretty soon.
Attached are bunch of pics of my empty trunk, the HU, and the connectors. My connector has 14 wires connected. I am guessing that there is a power, ground and 12 speaker wires.
My other concern is that my HU does not support Sirius sat radio. I read here http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37661 that the HU S/W version must be 50 or higher and mine is 40. :cry:
