Resonator Delete?

I've read about performing resonator deletions on other BMW models, on other web forums. Has anyone looked into doing this on the x3? I've read that replacing the resonator with an "x pipe" will give the car a lil' more growl without sounding harsh and obnoxious. I wanted to attempt the "golf tee mod", but I checked and my '04 2.5 didn't seem to have a servo.

pretty much anything you do to the exhaust system on the X3 will yield essentially nothing in terms of real performance gains...

mods that are meaningful as determined by extensive research

wheels/tires
Nav upgrade
Audio -- ipod integration/head unit/speakers
Shift knob upgrade (my personal fave)
