Just returned from Homecoming 2003 and have to stop in and offer my compliments and thanks to BMW. The entire experience was impressive not only in the scope of the exercise ( over 530 cars ) but the sincerity and professionalism with which it was executed. There was a substantial financial expenditure from the various dinners, to the fireworks, to the tech sessions and driving experiences.
What impressed me most was the incredibly helpful and considerate attitude of every BMW employee I spoke with. From the technicians who sweated to death while fixing the most nit-picky complaints, to the BMW NA engineers who generated a lot of goodwill by taking care of not-necessarily-under-warranty items, to the staff at the Zentrum, everyone was overly kind and wonderfully helpful.
It is a great model for BMW NA to impress upon their dealerships. It would certainly make a boatload of evangelists out of customers if they could brag to their colleagues and friends about the truly dedicated customer service they receive at the dealers. Unfortunately, that dealership ideal has yet to be realized.
So, thank you to BMW NA/AG for taking the time to host such a wondeful event with people dedicated to their customers!
