I wish I could have timed it a bit better! I pulled in to the driveway, and ran to get my camera. I've been meaning to take it with me for a few days now to grab some pics of "my hood", but it's been raining two mornings in a row. Now that it's nice and sunny, I might go out and get some more.

I have 86,000 on my 2001 325. So I'll probably cross 90k in about a month.

Just turned 123K this past weekend in the Miata. The 325 is right out... bought it with a broken odometer at 177K, the 'new' engine has 117K, the new odometer had 133K (now 135). I'll just celebrate 150K as if it were really its first 150K. ;)

My odo was in binary this morning:

10110 miles.

~53000 on the M3

~27000 on the 323iC

I ran my '91 318is up over 115K (and should have kept it even then). I expect to keep my M3 until the wheels fall off (okay, at least 200K miles).

Just as interesting as the question of how far you've driven your current car, is the question how far do you expect it to go.

I was sort of assuming I would get 150k miles... is that unreasonable?

Just turned over 50K on friday on my way home from work.

Is he talking about the 90k miles on the odometer or the 430 + miles on a tank of gas?

I'm sure some E46s have hit that point by now. With regular maintenance and reasonable care, I'm sure you'll see past 150k.

90k on the odometer. The trip odometer isn't accurate-- I only put half a tank or so last time I refueled, and I didn't reset it. Now that I think of it, I usually always reset it, and I wonder why I forgot last time.

300K on both. At least.

I have a picture of my old-old Benz (a 1985 190D 2.2 diesel) with the odometer reading "222222" on it. I am very upset about not having taken a picture of my current 190E 2.6 when it reached "123456." It is now at about 170000, so I will take a pic at 200K.

My car's still new with just under 28k on it. Unless something really compelling (M3 Touring??) comes around, I plan on holding onto this car for 200k minimum.

I missed the correct trip meter point to be able to get 123456 7890 on the Miata, so I will get a pic of 123456 0987.

:yikes:

I'll have to write that one down and try and remember it! Who knows if I'll have this car then, though.

Yup, I'll try to do that too. I am probably 6+ years away though.

Just noticed something about your ti, Sarafil-- it doesn't have the stupid fuel gauge meter. Was the ti the only car in recent BMW history to not have that gauge? nice.

Woah! Interesting.

FWIW, on my '88 M3, BMW replaced the ergonometer (gas mileage meter thingy) with an oil temp gauge. I believe other ///Ms get similar treatment, although the U.S. E36 M3s did not.

I leant the Miata to a friend while he was here, and he took it over 123456... handily. Oh well, I'll just have to get to 200K for the next photo op. He's more important than a picture. :)

no problem... here, let's reset that service indicator too :D

It looks like my service indicator is defective, though. It's not level! ;)
