Who has done the fuel filter on a Z4M?
I priced the filter at $117 (quite a change from the Z3's $25)! It is also a special order part (bav auto). Should this not be replaced at regular tune up intervals? It looks to be in the tank.

It looks to be in a bad location with plenty of opportunity to spill large amounts of gasoline while changing the filter. I would not replace before 60K miles at the earliest, unless I could get the dealer to do it as part of the free maintenance before 50K miles. Gasoline is more commonly contaminated by water than it is by dirt particles. The water can be removed by regular use of fuel treatment additives.

I would purchase from BMW.
BMW North Haven, CT discounts 25% from suggested retail plus shipping.

Filter/regulator in the tank. BMW doesn't show replacement time.

Thanks Ron. I knew it was in the tank, but that seriously looks like a PITA. The one on the Z3M took less than 10mins once under the car. I typically change out the fuel filter every time I do a tune up, plugs, air filter, etc... but I may have to skip this on the Z4M and just use some fuel system cleaner. I purchased plugs and air filter yesterday...
BTW, I have 39k on the car and I'm pretty sure everything is original since BMW really doesn't do anything these days.

Usually if the filter is intank its supposed to last a long long time, like 100 000kms. So i wouldnt worry too much about it if the car is fairly new/low kms.
