Hello all, I have a 2002 325i sport and since day one i have felt that my clutch was shuddering/chattering. The car now has 10,900 miles on it and it hasn't gone away. At first I figured it was normal since it's a new car. Could it possibly be a bad clutch from the get-go? This is mostly noticed when taking off in first gear. The car is only 15 months old.
By the way, my friend got a 2004 330ci back in july and his car is in for service for a shuddering clutch problem that came from factory. Now could my cr have had the same problem? I need some help....
Thanks in advance!
Recently I have noticed my clutch shuddering/chattering a bit first thing in the morning, but it ceases within the first few minutes of driving. :dunno:

Same car, same mileage, same age, same problem.
I haven't brought it in to have it looked at. When it goes in for the 15k, I'm going to have it looked at.

I brought mine in for service in july since it was 1 yr old and had 9,800 miles on it. I totally forgot to mention it to them.

Since I work(ed) at the dealer, and I can get parts cheap, I just bought the parts and paid one of the techs to change the oil for me at a little over 7000 miles. I'll go in at 14k or so for my first warranty service.
The car has been flawless, but the combination of the clutch feel and the DBW drive me nuts. Otherwise, it is far, far superior to our 2 former E46s. I've said it before, and I'll say it again-- if I could rip the clutch and mechanical throttle out of an M52 car, I'd like the car that much better. As it is, I'd rate it a solid 9 out of 10. Fixing that issue would make it a 10.

The clutch and throttle combo on my old E36 318i was FAR better than my E46. The DBW and clutch on this 325i drive me nuts...somtimes my friends think i can't drive a stick because my car jerks once in a while from the DBW lag. it pisses me offffff:mad:

The E36 has a nice set up. But honestly, I had no problems with the set up in the early E46s-- a set up that many people were already complaining about. It worked just fine for me, and I was very comfortable with the car. I now have the same problem you do-- I can do just fine 9 times, and then the 10th the car will buck, or it'll rev like crazy. You just can't predict what it'll do-- it has a mind of its own!

It's alive, it's alive:eeps::eek:...lol..
but do you think our cars may have a faulty clutch from the factory? because my friends 04 330ci has a faulty clutch from the factory and it's being replaced under warranty this week.

Yes, mine does the same thing. I doubt any thing can be done about this annoying shuddering. I have read posts speculating that this may be the clutch adjusting.
