My BMW mechanic ran a diagnostic test on my 94 and told me the ecu's were not communicating and that is why my control center keeps giving me warnings (brake light out, washer fluid low, etc.) He said there may be a short somewhere or as easy as a fuse. At $85 an hour it could take up to 3 or 4 hours just to find it. Has anyone else experienced this problem? All comments appreciated.

If you lose the 80 amp link the car won't run. The messages you listed indicate to me the car runs. Have you followed the messages to the source to check it out?

The messages said "no data available". I guess that is why he said they (the ECUs) were not communicating. If there is something I can fix without the dealer, It saves me all of that diagnostic money. Any help is appreciated.
