Alex, a friend of mine told me that there's a tuner in Germany that's capable of getting over 370HP out of the E46 M3 by just replacing the chip. Is that true? What tuner is that?!?

Tks!

no

I've seen it claimed too, but I don't buy it, and nobody else that's done extensive ECU work (Conforti, Dinan) buys it either

Thanks, Atty...

Thought so. :)

That same friend of mine is almost convinced to go ahead and buy an RS6 (crazy guy with more money than brains - I'd never pay THAT MUCH money for a car. It costs ~R$ 450K down here. That's like US$ 151K). I'v been trying to convince him to get an M5 instead. However, he keeps praising the RS6 based on what he's reading about the car, etc. Well, at least on paper it seems Audi has BMW by the balls this time around: RS4 vs M3 (although they are very different cars, based on specs, the RS4 has a competitive edge); RS6 vs M5...

Do you guys know what BMW's doing about it? Are the next-gen M3 and M5 the answer?

Hmm, that would mean like 37 HP increase. I don't think that would be possible just by swapping the ECU.

I'll check it anyway. :)

Might be Nowack or MST Weismann.

Nowack is testing a chip for the E46M3, which is supposed to give 10 hp and 15 Nm.
