Dropped by... talked to SA... noticed something blue in the corner...whoaa!

Presenting - number 058, one of the 6 Alpina Z8 Roadsters ever to come to Canada. In my opinion, the most beautiful car still in production today.

Oh, and these pics are NOT crappy, they are pretty good for a cell phone cam :p

Wow, only 6 for the whole country? I've seen 3 different ones in the showroom of 1 local dealership! Of course we can't get ours with Individual...

That's what I've been told in 2 dealerships now, guess it's true. That makes it pretty damn exclusive :D

And I don't think that particular Z8 was "Individual". It's just that the dealership didn't have "Alpina" plates, so they covered up with something :)

I'd say there are two downsides. Engine (compared to the original S62, of course) ;)

Are you sure it wasn't? I thought that silver and black were the only options for the Alpina V8?

I'm not sure now :eeps: It just seems strange that the default Alpina Blue colour would not be offered standard on an Alpina.

Pics from Alpina's web-site. Seems to be the same colour combo, so maybe us canucks just get more colour choices that you yankees :p

I think we are beating on the dead horse again. We have way too many debates about this with the non-Alpina fans. :tsk:

Anyway, you really have to grab the Oct 2003 Total BMW magazine. The ENTIRE issue is dedicated to Alpina. Also, I finally got my questions answered about the Alpina B3 brakes. ;)

Oh, the Z8 Alpina was not to replace the BMW Z8, but Burkhard saw his product as a way to fill up the gap in the US market. So does this mean that Alpina approached BMW NA?

Alpina have more torque  :D

I don't see a debate, Mr. Paddle Shift. Our comments on "downsides" are but a friendly jest, and I am quite aware of (almost) everything that Alpina has to offer above and over hp or torque figures :p

"have". Corporations seem to be plural in British English. Trips me up everytime I speak to my UK colleagues. No idea what German English-speakers consider proper. :dunno:

And I wouldn't be complaining if someone forced me to take an Alpina Z8 instead of a BMW. The body styling is just gorgeous.

I'm a US-College graduate, but it was in the UK :D

But I use 'have' for Corporations.

Yes, on the BBC I hear them refer to corporations and crowds in the plural. i.e.:

US: "The crowd is going wild!"

UK: "The crowd are going wild!"

What's the deal with mfg's placing the spedo and tach in the center of the dash? That's just f-ing stupid. I don't get it; talk about taking the driver's attention away from the road where it should be.

LOL, what the heck am I saying? That car will fit in perfectly here in the states.

I rarely ever look at the speedo or the tach. RPMs are heard, speed is felt (or just go with the flow of other traffic), I'd have no problem with those dials moved off to the side :dunno:

That still doesn't explain why the cluster is moved to the center of the dash. :D

Hehe, I agree with you. I have never understood too why the cluster is in the middle.

Mini drivers care to comment? ;) The Esperante has the entire gauge cluster centered! I don't get it. I think it's the "passenger nag" option. "Look how fast you're going! Slow it down!"
