Purchased a 2004 330Cic,
Love the car, want the hardtop now...
But..
BMWNA has said to me the parts are not available till like November ????
Why Not ??
The hardtops are produced & have been since spring ??
This is a very poor way of selling an early released model IMO.

First time poster, planning on ordering a 330xi in December 2003. I bought a 2000 Montero Sport on 2/12/2000 and had an accident on my birthday 4/9/2000. The SUV turned over on the driver side. Had to replace the whole driver side of my SUV and the roof. Insurance company would not total it. It took 3 months to get the parts and they came directly from the assembly line. So, this is not just BMW. It is all manufactures. When new cars come out, there is lag time in replacement parts.

All manufacturers except VW. Their great claim to fame when they first brought the bug over? Every dealer had enough parts to build a bug from scratch before the cars were ever sold!

Of course, things are probably radically different now.

Regardless as to other Auto companies,
It stands to reason that if you sell a 30K-50K piece of anything, that
you are ready to sell parts.
Good for VW, they do it right !
