The crappy ones that come on the car just don't do it for me at all. I've seen the Beyern, but was hoping for some better ideas from you guys. Your thoughts appreciated...:)

I like my 20s that came with the M Sport package. I think they are style 303.

Funny you post those, as I like them and would have ordered them if they were available when I bought my ED. While I'm not a fan of the chrome pieces, I do like everything else about that package. It was not available when I ordered my car, but the "Sports Package" was, and I bought it. They just changed it up for the 10 model. That said, I don't know where I could get them. I've been looking in the aftermarket and no luck. You know BMW will charge me an arm and a leg.

Post some more pics. Your car is tough, and your driveway is sweet too.

Just another thing besides front passanger massaging seats that BMW changed for '10! :D

The funny thing is as strange it seems for BMW to ADD chrome to an M Sport model, the pieces don't really bother me. The fronts almost resemble LEDs or fogs and I find the chrome trim strip across the trunk less "sporty." I'd would much rather have a painted piece like the previous model's sport package.

Here's another shot of the car and driveway.

Yeah, they hosed us on the seat thing.

I would have preferred them to install an LED fog light assembly in the area they put the chrome piece on the front. It would have looked incredible. Don't get me wrong, I love the car and the wheels, that would be my ONLY add. I'm down a passenger rub-down and rims. :thumbdwn:

I am going to clear-bra my bumper as my LS460L got beat-up prettty well--lesson learned. I suggest you consider it as well given you have black.

Actually, Dark Graphite, but good suggestion nonetheless. Snow season is coming and the sand/salt wreaks havoc on cars. The hood/front bumper gap seems like a good separation point.

The front grill, bumper area is almost verticle so you know it's going to get a beating.

Are you talking rock chips or pedestrians? :D Got to love the new EU pedestrian rules!

Thanks for chiming in. Yeah, I did look at those, but am holding out for the sport package M wheels. I want a newer wheel that hasn't been out there awhile. Unfortunately I have not been able to find even aftermarket versions. Bummer.

Edit:
Just heard from my local dealer regarding the 303M wheels, standard on the '10 "Sports Package". They will run, per rim, $800 for fronts and $900 for rears (tire not included), appx. This is not including shipping from Germany. Those are OUT now. Back to the drawing board.

I would get them if I were you, if u like them why not....The wheels set ur car apart from the rest and trust me u dont want to put aftermarket anymore those are a thing of the past.

$1,800 + 1,600 + 250 (shipping) = $3,600 + 2,000 (tires) = $5,600, but probably closer to $6,000. I think I'll settle for some non-chrome afters. Problem is, none of them come with run-flats so then I need to pack a spare. What a drag.

I spent that for my 128's, and after I had to replace two front tires in less then 6 months go figure. If they make replicas I would get them if I were you as long as they are good.

Run flats are available. My 20" Ms came with Goodyears. I took them off and replaced them with all-seasons.

I think you're getting bad info from your dealer or they're charging you retail. I was quoted around $5,500 with tires for the 21" style 321s.

Im looking at getting some wheels from Marcato Wheels. Theyre reasonably priced and all custom. I was quoted around 3200 for all 4.

I wouldn't be surprised as gouging is pretty common here in the metroplex when it comes to cars. I'll check into your 321's. You know, I may check with another dealer on the wheels just for grins.

Marcato? Hmm. I'm going to look into those as well. thx

BMR2009,

What is up with Toyota/Lexus??? Just heard they're recalling 4 million cars due to the gas pedal getting stuck in the floor position. How scary is that. First it was the floor mat recall and now this. I have a feeling the floor mat recall was just a decoy and the gas pedal getting stuck was the real problem.

You may want to have your lexus look at.

Bummer. My LS460L was an incredible car. I never had any problems with it the two years I had it. However, it was borrrrrring to drive. They are running down the right path, but I'd like to see more ponies and tighter suspension.

I sold mine when I bought the 7 Series.

talk to Evan at Tischer BMW [getbmwparts.com]

he might be able to give u a better deal on the 20" M sport wheels w/ tires. i was quoted like $5500 shipped for the ferric grey 312s with tires so i imagine he could totally beat your dealers quote

Tire Rack has some closeout deals on the BBS CKs right now. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=CK005POL&wheelMake=BBS&wheelModel=CK&wheelFinish=Polished+w%2FClearcoat&showRear=yes&selectedRear=CK006POL&autoMake=BMW&autoModel=750Li&autoYear=2009&autoModClar=&filterSize=20&filterFinish=All&filterSpecial=false&filterBrand=All&filterNew=All&sort=Price

These are obviously cast BBS wheels and not the much more expensive spun-rim or forged variety, but IMO they're much better looking than any BMW OEM wheel.

I just saw your post and apologize for not getting back to you. I will contact him immediately as I am VERY motivated to get some new wheels. H A T E my wheels. They don't look good on my car, IMO. They always look dirty no matter how clean they are.

Thanks bud. I'll get back...

I hate the wheels too. Ive narrowed my choices down to marcato or beyern mesh. I think for right now, the beyern mesh fit the car the best.

We have them too. I don't love them, but the roads here suck and after 35000 miles and way too much money on tires later with the 21s on our 06 series we decided to stick with the 19s when we got the the F01. The ones you and I have are still a lot better looking than the other 19s offered :thumbdwn:

Just managed to get some part numbers and here are some prices from Evan's dealership

The Style 311's in silver are $5231 with tires plus shipping [I think shipping is like $150] as opposed to $65xx from your dealer. The Ferric Grey 312s are the same price.
The Style 311s in chrome are $5356 and in "midnight chrome" they are $8054 from BMW, Tischer [Evan's dealer] doesn't have those in their online system yet so I can't give you their price.

My guess is you will have an easier time getting the 21s because they are accessories. I had a friend with an 528 order the wheels and tires from the 550 sport [style 172M] and they took 8 weeks to get here from Germany. Unfortunately my guess would be that the same thing would happen with the 302M and 303M's because they are not accessory wheels like the 311 and 312s.

Shoot me an email if you need anymore help

I'm very grateful for your information.

So I guess you'll be sticking with the stocks?!

Good point regarding the accessory wheels rather than the sport (303's) and the wait for them. I'm going to try and find some pics of the 311's on a car, besides my photoshop pics.

What do you think about these two? The first (311's) are 21's, actually have knock-offs for $1k--style has been around awhile. The second, 20's, are from the 2010 Sports pkg, which would have to be special ordered.

Do you think the 21's are just curb magnets? Thoughts...

Personally, I think you should go aftermarket. I just dont feel like any of the wheels BMW has available for the car fit it nicely. BMW used to make the best wheels, i dont know if they fired that guy or just ran out of ideas but none of the wheels BMW offers nowadays are anything special.

I haven't seen anything in the aftermarket that I care for enough to pull the trigger. I think chrome is too much, so that leaves silver.

Im probably gonna end up getting the beyern mesh in 20's. I think on your color those wheels would look incredible. Lips not too big, 3" in rear, 1 1/2" in front. Stainless lip.

Beyrn, Mesh. These are the silver with the polished lip...

Which are you getting?

Those exact ones. Im still on the fence on whether to get black or silver faces but im probably gonna end up with the silver ones. Im still talking to marcato about custom wheels but they only offer a chrome lip as opposed to stainless and im worried about repairing it if i ever do hit a curb. The tire size is a little bit of a concern for me. I do plan on going alittle wider with the rears and the only matching set are pirellis, If i ever get a flat im gonna have to figure out what to do. Im still waiitng for an answer from BMW to see if the X5 space saver will fit. If it doesnt, then im gonna order one more front and use that as a spare

I can but with the size of the wheels im getting finding regular wheels that will look the way i want is hard enough. To be honest, Ild prefer non run flats since i did add lowering springs and i am going up in size so i have a somewhat close to stock ride

Philly, they're still number one on my list. However, I'm not pleased with a 6-8 week wait. I'll check into them. I wonder if I can get some pricing on them.

Baf, I understand, but do you really want to carry around a spare in what is honestly a small trunk?

Well there is a small space under the mat in the trunk where a scissor jack will fit perfectly. I figure if i have a 7 inch wide wheel it shouldnt take up too much space. Im probably gonna find a spare and put it in the trunk and drive around with it for a bit and see if it bothers me or takes up too much room
