i have a 1991 525i and i need a replacement automatic tranny.I was wondering if a 1992 325i's tranny will fit my 525i?
what years and models tranny are compatible with my 525i?thanks for your help

4 types of automatic transmissions were used on the E34s... Its a good chance a 92 will be compatible. I think Engine has to do alot with it too... Do you know what kind of transmission you already have? ZF or GM?

it is still best to find out which one you already have. I think you can tell just by looking at the bottom of the transmission and comparing it to the chart.

It is amazing what you can do with the propper shop equiptment and a great deal of know-how. Most of us have niether. LOL...

Save yourself a huge headache and get the correct transmission from a salvage yard. As you are in CA, try westcoastautoparts.com They will have it and at a great price. (Relitively great price)

Keep in mind that when you use a tranny from another model there is the big chance that your driveshaft will need to be modified and posibly the rear diff.
