I had to lay my previous 92 525i to rest with 256K miles due to failure of reverse in the transmission. Engine purred like a kitten, it just wasn't worth it to fix it. As seen in my avatar and sig, I currently have a 95 352is and 2000 528i, but my first love is the E34 525i.

I just purchased another 92 525i and couldn't be happier. 85K original miles and not even a ding in any of the doors. I will have to put strut inserts in, new tires and replace a headlight. The driver side rear window moves slowly with noise and the passenger seat headrest will not go up or down. I have already read some repair threads for the headrest.

Here are some pics (I haven't had a chance to clean it up yet, so these are "in the raw"so to speak)

Thanks for the nice comments. I forgot to mention that it came with books and records as well. The 85K miles are actual and it just recently had a cooling system overhaul including a new radiator. Here are some wheels I am thinking about getting:

They are ASA AR1's. I could not get it to show like it does on tirerack.com.

Dang, clean car!

Don't get the AR1's though. Way too played out and they aren't the greatest quality.

You should search for used wheels on cl or here or bimmerforums.com. Don't rush into it and you will get a stellar deal somewhere. I found my set on CL for about half of what they should have been!

By the way, what does the "rot' mean in Calypsorot and Hellrot? Is it German for red or something?

Unfortunately I salvaged the old gal when the trans went out , so no parts.

I just used the button to lower the headrest on the driver's side (I also tilted it forward, by hand of course). I have to do the repair on the passenger side though. I looked at it and it doesn't seem like it will be too hard to do. Here are a couple of links for that:
