400 bis? 550 ps?

I assume that is horsepower and torque numbers, anybody translate?

That is 400 to 550 ps.

PS is German for Pferdestärke or Horse Strength. Almost the same numerical value as BHP. What I am little confused with is the factory numbers for S4. I thought it is 344bhp or thereabouts?

sounds right, 344 is the euro rating I think. It should be 1 horsepower over euro M3. :p

I am still quite perplexed why ASA starts off from 400ps. This number equates to about 394bhp, which is 50 bhp off. Why why why?

Great find, Vince

The engine on the E60 is looking like the 3.0 Liter.

BTW, where's Infinitas coming from ? Never heard of it before :dunno:

I think the E60 might be a blue print for future Alpina models. Just a guess. Kris did hint that the ASA S/C will trickle from the B7 to the rest of the models.

Thanks to Alpina's superior "request", ASA had to sideline to a different brand name,Infinitas, as their new line of ASA equipped cars. ASA and Infinitas are under the same management. Alpina doesn't like the public to be confused with say (maybe) a B3 ASA S/C vs a 330i Infinitas ASA S/C. At least this is how I interpret the agreement. :eeps:

I have asked Mr Weber at the IAA a few questions about the B5 (oops, you didn't hear this from me :eeps: ), he said that it'll get B7's engine.
