I saw my first BMW Isetta 300 yesterday in a restaurant parking lot. This thing was very small. It even had a sunroof.

You really shouldn't be opening other people's car doors.

That car is in great shape.

I'd sure like to see what it could do in a 35 mph offset crash test.

then it would have to be a going down a steep hill!!

Hey, now, the top speed was all of 50-60mph! You just had to be patient getting there.

Actually, it would be the perfect commmuter car. Traffic around here moves more slowly than that at peak commure times...

I wish I did have my camera handy when I saw the one in the parking lot. I figured by the time I went home and got back the car would have already left the restaurant. As you probably figured out these pictures are the first ones I came across on the net as representative.

 I know, I was just kidding. The husband of a woman my wife used to work with restores them. He has two complete ones at his house, and the parts to build about three more.

How much do they sell for?

Here is a movie clip with some Isetta performance information and BMW Isetta history. http://www.cqql.net/isetta-billwaite.ram

A refrigerator handle for the front door
