I'm currently looking for an X3 (2006, manual, premium, htd seats, under 50K miles for under $20k if you know of one) and have a question about the Bluetooth. I have a Parrot CK3100 in my current car that allows the option of using the phone's voice commands instead of its own. When I push the button, my Blackberry's voice recognition takes over, just as if I was using it without the Parrot, but still plays through the car speakers. Does the X3 offer this, or do you have to program all of the voice recognition? Also, does it display the names of incoming calls? Just trying to figure out if I want to hold onto my Parrot or leave it in the car. It was the best thing I ever added to my 6-sp Maxima, and I couldn't be happier with how well it works.

The BMW bluetooth manual is attached. I use CK3000 on my X3, as it is the only one that can be integrated with steering wheel controls of BMW (I don't have factory bluetooth or pre-wiring for it). In my opinion, if you can stay with factory it is the best, however there are certain phones that don't work with factory module. One of the neat features it has is it can automatically sync address book with compatible phones (unlike loading them one by one on parrot) and display the caller ID on stereo display unlike my CK3000Evo which only displays "PHONE" on stereo, although if the caller's number is stored on parrot it does announce caller's name/voice tag.
