Hi,

So I have a set of 225/55R17 tires that my father no longer uses, and said I could have. Ive been searching for a set of wheels, and it seems that OEM M68s are fairly easy to come by, will I have a problem with fitment?

The front wheels are 17x7.5, which shouldnt be a problem, but with 8.5 in the back, is that bad? Thanks for your help.

A 7.1% difference doesn't sound good. I think you're supposed to keep the difference from stock under 5%. A 225 tire will fit on the 8.5 rear wheel, though. I just got four 225/45-17s for my stock M68s a couple days ago.

Specification...Sidewall..Radius..Diameter..Circum f...Revolutions..Difference
225/45-17....... 4.0 in ..12.5 in ...25.0 in ...78.5 in..808 / mile.. N/A
225/55-17....... 4.9 in ..13.4 in ...26.7 in ...84.0 in..754 / mile.. 7.1%

Those tires will fit 7.5-8.5" rim widths, but those tires are too tall by almost 2 inches. It might not have clearance problems, but the speedo will be way off, the car will accelerate slower (but probably get slightly better mileage), and will look like a 4x4.

I'd sell em to someone who has a S-class MB or something that size belongs on and use the money to buy the right size tires.

Dang, that kinda sucks. The tires were used on a LS430, which, when I think about it, had a huge wheel well in comparison to my 330. Thanks again.
