I want better bass (nothing outrageous!) from my HK. Sweet and simple. Relatively cheap (<$500). Without ripping apart doors, etc. I'm happy with everything else about the system.

Add a subwoofer? Additional / replacement amplifier?

Drive down to the local mid-fi car audio shop and ask them what they can do for you. A pre-built sub box with a decent 10" sub is about $200 and they can probably sell you an amp for another $200. Add $100 labor and you're there.

An alternative would be something like the basslink, which is an all-in-one solution just like the above but is plug and play so you can do it yourself. The cost will be similar and it will be easily removable should you sell the car or need the additional trunk space.

No, you won't be annoying the neighbors with Eminem tracks, but both solutions will be much better than what you have now.

Thank you. I hadn't heard of basslink - something to check out. Cheers.

Some recommend JL Stealthboxes. Do a search.
