Help. Please. The Check Control Icon (looks like your car) on the dash is out. Not a fuse problem. Any ideas?

Probably a dead bulb.
Good idea. How do I change the lightbulb? Is there a DIY thread for this?
Also, I noticed your signature you removed the baffles in your air box. Which ones and how did you cut the plastic. Has that improved performance or just increased the sound?

I recently replaced a dead bulb behind the odometer in my M3. It required pulling the steering wheel and the instrument cluster. It sounds like an intimidating DIY but it really isn't. In fact, if you have a tilt wheel, you may not even need to remove it to get the cluster out. You will however, need a Torx bit to loosen the screws holding the cluster in the pod. The screws are located in the top of the cluster trim ring.
If you do pull the wheel. Be sure to disconnect the battery first or you run the risk of actuating the airbag.
Here is a link. http://www.brazeauracing.com/instrcluster.htm
The connectors are the tricky part because you are working blind, basically.
As for the air box. It sounds very throaty. I dig it. http://www.brazeauracing.com/airbox.htm
