I looked into ordering tires a while ago. You will have to pay GST(7%), PST(BC tax?), duty (I think it's 7% on tires, you can call customs). You will also have to pay brokerage (UPS is about $49 for under $1000), plus a disbursement fee (UPS was about $10). When I was looking, tires under 17 inch were almost as cheap in Canada but when you're looking at 18 or larger tirerack has some better deals. Tirerack will also charge for delivery($90US?). These are the costs I found, they may in fact be more or less.
Hope this helps.

i'm thinking about a whole set of wheels. seeing how the exchange rate is better for us these days, i'd figured that it would be worthwhile checkout the mail order option.
