04-09-2010, 12:47 PM
Turner Motorsport continues their campaign for the Grand-Am Rolex GT Championship and the Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The 6-time Champions will enter the BMW M6 in the Rolex GT class and two BMW E92 M3 coupes in the Continental GS class. Speed TV will have broadcasts of each race, starting with the Rolex race live on Saturday at 1:30PM ET. The Continental Challenge race will follow on April 17 at 3:00PM ET.

Since the last race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in early March, the Turner Motorsport team has been hard at work on the development of the new E92 M3 chassis. The work is extraordinarily in-depth so that the team can get a full understanding of the new car's dynamics. The goal with this development program is to produce race wins but the Turner Motorsport customers who race or track their own cars will also reap the benefits of a well-sorted total package. The team has partnered with innovative and well-established companies like H&R Springs, StopTech Brakes, Borla Exhaust, Pagid Racing, Motul Lubricants, Piloti Driving Shoes, Forgeline Wheels, and Intercomp Racing Systems to advance the E92 M3 into a strong contender for the Continental Tires Sports Car championship.

Behind the wheel of the #96 M3 is sports car ace Bill Auberlen and speedy newcomer Paul Dalla Lana. Auberlen will reach several milestones this weekend with his 250th professional sports car race in a BMW and his 150th Grand-Am start.

Factory BMW Motorsport driver Joey Hand teams up with Michael Marsal in the #97 M3. The pair scored a podium finish at the last race at Homestead and are in the top five in the championship standings.

Text Your Vote and Make TMS and BMW #1

Supporters are encouraged to vote as many times as they want, and there's no extra charges (only standard text messaging rates apply).

Returning to the track for its third race of the Rolex GT season is the BMW M6, piloted by Bill Auberlen, Paul Dalla Lana, and Joey Hand. The team finished 8th in class at the 24 Hours of Daytona and 5th at Homestead while also setting the fastest GT race lap. The team continues to make changes that improve the car at every race.

The action at Barber Motorsports Park kicks off today with practice and qualifying this morning. The Rolex Series race begins at 1:30PM ET on Saturday. The Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge follows at 4:00PM ET.
