Some of the guys on M3forums.com are mounting 245/40 and 275/35 on OEM 18" Wheels, is this OK?

I have some 245 front, 265 rears for track use that fit fine. Better balance than the 245/275 combo. But the 275 rears will fit.

We've tried all the above mentioned sizes with success.

Gary, could I run 235/40-18 with 255/35-18?

You can run them, the big thing is to check the tire diameters or revs per mile to make sure they are similar in diameter.

Which tires are you looking at in those sizes?

I suppose you could if you bump up the air pressues to make up for the difference in load capacity, but why use a shorter tire?

Well, I already have them, they are Yokahama AVS ES100's. I have some SSR Professor SP1's that I will mount on the car and was trying to avoid buying new tires.

Are you running 245/45 and 265/40's?
