OK, there was a very small rock chip on the left fender. I've cleaned it carefully and put paint and clear coat. Now it's dried. Now there's a small blob on the painted part.

So, I'm going to wet-sand it. :(

Any last minute tips ?

Thanks

Use 2000 grit! I made the mistake of using 400 (seemed good to me. Then spent the rest of the day with 1500 and finally 2000 to remove the 400 grit scratches

Oh yeah, I have the 2000 grit from 3M.

Do I use just water as lubricant ?

One tip I've heard is to adhere a small circle of sandpaper to the end of a pencil eraser, this way you focus all the sanding just in that area.

My wife is going to pick up some touch up paint from the dealer this week. I've got a chip the size of a pencil head eraser right next to the headlight. How many coats of paint and clear coat did you apply? I assume you partially filled the chip with paint and then topped it off with clear coat? Thanks.
