View Full Version : Yoko's ES100 very loud
After about 5000 miles these tires are really loud...I am a stickler for tire pressure (36lbs) which I check at least once a week..
I've owned many performance tires over the years but these definitely are the loudest I've ever had..
What are others experiences with these tires...
These aren't nearly the loudest I've ever had (Dunlop D40M2 takes that honor), but in the last 1000mi I've noticed a rythmic hum under certain conditions that I hadn't heard before. I think this was originally noted by ObD.
I really like the way they perform, but now I'm thinking about switching to something else, perhaps RE750s, or move up to the more expensive stuff.
They are VERY loud when pushed hard...
They seem to be very sensitive to the road condition....grainy roads are very loud..

Uh oh, are they?
Better look...
Discovered the other day that it looks like Costco can order Michelins. Should find out how much Pilot Sports or PS2s cost through them.

Last time I asked (months ago), I was told that they wouldn't order any tires for wheels larger than 17". That may have changed by now if they're trying to cater to the :bling: SUV crowd.

Oh... Well, the ones I saw were 225/45/17 for a S4 according to the sheet attached to them.

They are still quieter than the Kuhmo Ecsta 712s!
I must say though that after heat cycling, they have gotten a bit harder. I wish they had stayed as soft as when they were brand new.
Not loud. Play with the air pressure. I find these tires sensitive to temperature and pressure. Any noises/tramlining I've cured this way, usually by adding. When cold they are somewhat inconsistent.
