Hi all! I came over from 5series.net and I've been there for over 2 years. I heard this forum is full of good people, too, so I figured what the hell. Here are some photos of my car. Glad to be here!

nice car, awesome pictures, what kind of camera are you using and what settings?

Thanks! Photos are made with Kodak digital M1033 10MGPX. Used a tripod and took 3 different stills at varying exposure settings and then rendered them in HDR using Photomatix. Glad you like them.

So, you run 19" wheels, Howitzer? Isn't that a bit risky with regard to stability, especially here in Chicagoland? At least that's what I've read somewhere...

Also like the wheel/tire suggestions you've made and probably shoot for those, too.
However, I'm still not sure about 19-inchers... I'm more leaning towards 18", even though I started looking at 19" initially.

Guess I'll have to give that some more thought.. Thanks!

I think you'll be a lot happier with 19's vs 18's. You'll find as time goes on that 20" is really the "ideal" size for the E60 in terms of looks but the right 19 with the right offset looks very sharp and aggressive. In regards to everyday functionality, I'd go with 19". Think about the new 550 sports? They come with 19" stock BMW 172 style wheels. Just make sure you get a strong wheel. Your best bet if you get cast alloy is an OEM wheel by BBS. If you choose not to go OEM and you have the money, get a forged wheel. Those things are strong as hell. If you are not getting Forged or OEM, you will want to stick to VMR that don't have a bad reputation of bending at the slightest bump in the road. I've heard some recommend Breyton's as well but I have no experience with those.

But yea, go 19!

Very nice ride! What kind of front bumper do you have? Is that the OEM M5 bumper w/fog lights?

Beautiful car, gorgeous photos. What is the building that looks like it has huge silos on each of the four corners, and where is it? It's cool looking.

Not sure if you know the answer to this question but hoping you do.. I too own a BMW 530i and I'm facing a problem where I can't seem to get my trunk open by pressing the pad button on the inside of the car but I seem to be able to only with pressing the key button.
I was told that it might have resetted when my wife once stuck the key in to open the trunk.. Would you know how to get it to work again using the button on the inside of the car..

Thank you

But yea, go 19!Agree - I think anything larger than 19 makes the rotors look way too small - looks strange - big wheel, small rotor.

You're right. I just put on some new rotors, too, and while they're not Brembos, they definitely look sharp! They are R1 Concepts aka Centric aka StopTech (all the same factory that makes the blank).

Did you miss my question? :dunno:

That is the Inverness village hall at the end of Roselle Rd. Its a very old and very cool building, indeed!

Here are more pics I took today. Got the idea for both of these really small mods from members on the 5series.net board. I love the fact that there are no foglights anymore (the inserts are still there, however). From afar it looks pitch black and from close they're like brake ducts. The back shown are new gloss black emblems for the M54 engine. Its truthful but stealthy!

I simply would like to find out a little about the history of the building. I mean, why would a town hall have four silos attached to it, LOL.

Well, originally it was owned by a man over 100 years ago who's wife died on the property. He claims she haunted him. Because of that he rebuilt his house so that it had no corners anywhere in the house (because superstition says that ghosts can hide in corners). The silos were actual rooms as you go up a spiral staircase. When he died it was sold to the city because of how unique it was and of course remodeled, etc. That is the rumored story behind the property. =)

Hey Howitzer...

Good to see you here too. It is a conservative forum compared to e60.net. I am sure the members here will really appreciate all you have done. Cars like yours aren't found here...
