I bought a used 535i that stated had SIRIUS Satellite Radio and OH surprise does not have it installed. How should approach this to the dealer. I assume if I paid for it I should get it installed.

I mean, you go to the dealer and they take care of it. End of story. What else would you do?

Hopefully, you have this in writing that the vehicle has Sat Radio, e.g. the dealer's ad, or online listing. If so, then I would say they're obligated to give it to you.

How was it stated - in writing, verbally? Maybe ask your dealer to show you how to work it.

Did they say it actually had Sirius radio, or did it merely list Code 693 (Satellite radio preparation)? The later means that it is only pre-wired for Sirius. You would still need to get the actual module and program the system for Sirius.

also if it makes you feel any better, we got it on ours and signed up for the free year but to be honest we rarely ever use it. too many junk channels on there. i'm sure others feel differently but just my 2 cents.

I'd be willing to pay if I could select from a menu but to pay for all the stations just doesn't work for me.

I found the same thing. Too many station and was just not worth the money. Plus I found the same songs just kept playing over and over when you listen to just a few channel

In the Internet ad of the car. Matter of fact I copied and pasted it in another thread. This is a copy paste from the car features ad:

# 6-cyl. twin turbo
# abs (4-wheel)
# air conditioning
# am/fm stereo
# bluetooth wireless
# bmw assist
# cruise control
# dual front air bags
# dual power seats
# front side air bags
# integrated phone
# leather
# moon roof
# navigation system
# parking sensors
# power door locks
# power steering
# power windows
# premium pkg
# premium sound
# premium wheels 19"+
# rwd
# single compact disc
# sirius satellite
# sport pkg
# stability control
# steptronic auto

You see in the list SIRIUS SATELLITE.

I agree but if you paid for something you should get it. SIRIUS cost about 800 installed.

You should and the dealer is probably waiting patiently for you to go back and get the subscription documentation... :D
