Gi Day everyone from a frustrated Aussie,
I ordered an X6 50i Vermillion Red/Beige interior in December last year (2009) and I am still waiting for an updated delivery date from my BMW Distributor/Dealer in Australia, my original delivery was for April 2010 then the BMW X6 face-lift come into play; I've since spoken to my Dealer on several occasions and they are still in the dark (hoping it may be the end of June 2010); while waiting until the vehicle is manufactured to gain any idea of a delivery schedule.

Obviously frustration is starting to take hold with the performance and professionalism of BMW in general, particularly when I read on this site how quickly the USA 2011 X6 buyers are getting there cars manufactured and delivery schedules advised.

Apologies for the negativity but maybe someone @ BMW in the right position may pick this up and act accordingly; I don't need constant apologies and non-delivery performance I need my car and after waiting nearly 6-months I think it is time to advertise my disappointment in BMW.

Just an update for anyone interested; ordered my X650i in Dec 2009 and delivery looks confirmed for August 2010...

I contacted BMW Spartanburg factory and they came back to me yesterday, telling me my new X6 is on the boat (ship is WWL Faust) to Australia and arrives in port on 20th July and I'll see the car 2-weeks after that.

For the past month my dealer has loaned me brand new bimmers; X6M, 325I, 330D and they will swap that for an X5 next week. Pretty sure they keep changing so the cars don't build up too many K/M's. Anyhow the bonus has been the opportunity to drive some very nice bimmers.

^ In that case, I would never want my car to arrive.

That is great news, well done; must of been on the same ship as mine.

I expect to get my car in the first/second week of August; my dealer still has to fit the tow bar, 12-pin wiring for caravan, window tinting and exterior/interior Fusion paint/leather protection.

If I get it in the first week we'll be able to drive it down to the snow.

Great...

I'm just having paint/seat protection so I guess that's why I'm getting mine sooner!

Good call...

A couple of my friends from Victoria have the exterior/interior protection and they say after two years they haven't had to polish there Bimmers, and when the car is washed it looks like it has just been freshly polished. My wifes RX8 has it and it is five years old and looks brand new.

That's good to know.

It will be interesting to see if the paint protection is enough to resist the local fruit bats' splatter-bombing raids..... Though I have at last got off my backside and had a garage built, so maybe the bats won't be quite such a problem anyway....

Still waiting on that X650i to arrive; into the 8-month now...

Tackles411; I presume you picked your car up on Saturday; how does that V8 sound?

Hopefully you will get it this week???

I wimped out on getting a V8 and merely have the 35i (w Sports package) But it goes like a rocket on rails, just not as fast as yours will!! I think I got three speeding tickets on the way home. I am a bit nervous about going to my post box......

I got chateau leather/alcantara combination, which after reading forum comments and seeing on-line pics of chateau leather I was expecting to be a serious disappointment: its not!! It looks really excellent with the alcantara combination.

Ruby Black paint is a disappointment though: the paint protection makes it go a shade darker than it is meant to be, so it is almost pointless! You have to see it in really bright light to detect that it is red at all LOL

Overall the car is fine: responsive, quiet, astonishingly stable given its height and weight, and extremely comfortable, but quite a number of niggles suggesting a decline in build quality or that the quality control in the US factory is not what it is in Germany, so it is going back to the dealer shortly to have them fixed (I hope).
