i want to put the M5 style rims on my 2009 535i with x drive but the people at the dealership said that they wont fit. is there some way i can get the style that would be able to fit my car?

Its true, only certain types of wheels will fit an XI because of the AWD. The m5 wheels are staggered and you (very sadly) cannot have staggered wheels on an XI BMW.

Staggered setups have been done with the correct offset...

You can get a staggered wheel setup on the xdrive. I believe BMW started offering a staggered setup option in 2008.

There is at least one person on one of the forums that put M5 wheels on their xdrive. The wheels stuck out really far and seemed like they would rub on the wheel well.

There are some M5 replicas that are made for the xdrive, but I haven't heard anything good about them and they look a little strange.

There aren't that many OEM options, but there are a number of aftermarket options.
