Guys, is there a way to make that seat belt/key in ignition ding sound quiter/less volume? :dunno:
I was in a 328 loaner with no NAV, and it has the option of turning down/up the volume.
Its too loud and my wife complains about it every damn morning. Im tired of hearing that too, if you know what i mean

I hate that ding so much, I belt up before doing anything in my car.
If I could program it to ding 3 times, and stop, that would be perfect.

You can set volume in iDrive - look for "Volume of Warning Tones" in the owner's manual.

2007 models do not have that option.

2007 models do not have that option.According to the eversion of the 2007 530i owner's manual (page 88), there is a section on adjusting the volume of warning tones. Maybe your car didn't get that option since there is an asterisk by the section heading - I think that indicates it's optional.

I sold my 2007 about a year ago but I don't remember it being an available feature.

Ok, thank you. I will look at the paper version. Will let you know if in fact, it can be done.

You could just buckle your seat belt. :)

Actually, I have a 2007 and there was a section in my iDrive for the Warning Volume, but I think that was only after my software had been upgraded. (For the new moonroof seal)

(For the new moonroof seal)I don't believe his question implied non use of seat belt - it was just that the chime was too loud, e.g., when the door is open and key is in the ignition.

Correct, its too loud. So after the software update, you have the option for the volume?? Nice. I need an update then!!:eeps:
