I just got an ad email from BMW showing the new lineup for 2011.
I did not see the 528xi there or any other 5 x car.
Are they out?? or is it just too early?
It seems that the 535i is the base 5 model now.

The F10 x-drives are going to be out in the fall. I think production starts September or October. I have not heard anything about a 528 x-drive but I am certain they will make it. BMW has also already announced an F-10 hybrid and an F-10 diesel will come later on too.

No 2011 528xi yet and no word on it any where it seems. Does anyone know anything? I don't understand why this is such a difficult question to answer but there is NOTHING about it any where on the internet!!!

I could not believe that you just DEMANDED for an answer in a forum, wrong one at that. :tsk: You may get a proper one if you go to the F10 forum...

My post reflected my annoyance with the games even generally "good" company's like BMW play to make things seem more affordable to the consumer than they really are. Basically, I am sick of all the upsells in society!!! Thanks for posting that article.

Seems to me that BMW is going crazy!!
The product lineup is getting too spread out. They are doing like GM - trying to appease everyone yet no one! They will be too diluted and confused with too many Gigantic car models.
So let me see. No 5T's no 528xi, but that GT??:yikes:

Possibly as the cars grow the 3 will be the new 5??:dunno:

Look at the older e39/5series. They were fairly large at one time but now are very close to the 3 series!!

Well I guess I'll have to move up to 535i xDrive or 550i xDrive when it's time to replace my 528i :p

That's what I'm thinking. When it comes time to replace my 5 series, and the price is way too high, a 3 series will be just right.

I think when I replace my 5, I will probably go down to the 3 series as well. Too bad. So far, i really like my 525.

My monthly statement from BMW came a few days ago and the Inside Track for October 2010 states in the What's New section about intelligent all-wheel drive and the new 5.

"Beginning this autumn, xDrive-- BMW's intelligent all- wheel -drive system-- is available in four different 5 Series models: the 535i xDrive, the 550i xDrive ,the 535i xDrive Gran Turismo, and the 550i xDrive Gran Turismo."

No mention of the new F10 528i with xDrive. :dunno:

Seems crazy that BMW makes you buy the turbo or V8 , if one wants xDrive. :tsk:

Or actually pushes you into a lower priced car (3 series).

Looks like BMW is pushing 1 series as the new entry level(more sport here), make 3-series as sport-lux and 5-series as lux-touring. Just a shift in marketting, I just can't see buying 4000lb car so that push me into 3-series. My E92 335xi already more than 3700lb and I feel it compare to my 535i RWD which is also 3700lb. And that E92 has plastic front fenders already!

BTW, the new F30 3-series will be bigger than the current E90, and you betcha heavier.

The new 5 series has gotten a bit porky. That ,combined with the added weight of AWD and the lack of low- and mid- range torque in the NA engine adds up to a sluggish car. I am sure that is why there is no 528 X.

Those are very good points!!
I think that if you look at their lineup, there is just no more room.
That and your thought of being a slug, would keep sales/profits down.

If gas goes up the will be lucky to sell the 1's
