Impressive.

It beats the hell out of burning alive in the back of an M3, though.

How often does it have to happen - some twit driving too hard on the street and going off of the side - before they learn not to push it like that on the street? I did my stupid thing, I didn't kill myself, and I now know to take it to autoX and driving schools. But this kind of thing keeps getting posted.

That's one of the reasons why, when someone who doesn't do track or driving schools asks if they should buy an M3 or the like, I don't jump in with "Sure, what a great idea!" You can kill yourself handily with ~100hp not put down right. You don't need 300+.

yeah I remeber Pat from my audi days, he is the 1/4 guy who street races in Bakersfield. That wagon was fast, he posted a bunch of videos of him beating mustangs and such.

sucks but like people say, keep it on the track or auto-x. :thumbdwn:

AWD, DSC, ABS, are all designed to help car control, yes. They can help people when they go a bit beyond their talent zone. But NONE of them will overcome the laws of physics.

I caught the sarcasm, I just wanted to clarify for those wonderful people that don't get it.

My brother is a prime example of one of those people who are convinced that the electronic marvels in his car will save him, no matter what. The bad news is, he drives a Ford Expedition. And he rides closer to people's rear bumpers than I am comfortable doing in my Z3. The fact that he has had no major accidents is a minor miracle.

Didn't mean to sound like I was jumping on you. Sorry.

Yikes! :yikes: Good thing he walked away from this. But yeah, it's totally stupid to drive like that on the street.

Expedition has electronics :yikes: I thought it was just some crude V8 attached to some leaf springs :p (yeah new one does has independent rear suspension:)

It's pretty darned sophisticated for a 5300 lb vehicle that most people can afford to own.

But it is a truck. Tailgating, autocrossing and getting sideways on the freeway are not in its job description. Idiots ignore this fact at everybody's peril.
