Check out this new teaser video from BMW that 100% confirms an M version of the 1 series is coming. The official name of the car will be the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, BMW wisely stayed away from calling it the M1, which is of course the legendary super car build by BMW in the late 70s, early 80s. Putting the M after the series name is something BMW started with the X5 and X6 M so its not completely out of line with what they've done, even if it is a little awkward.

Its clear from the video scrip that BMW wants to make sure this baby M is taken seriously and will be true to the M heritage. Dr. Kay Segler specifically says "it's M pure" twice in the video, is he trying to convince us or himself?

Technical details are of course lacking in the video but the Bimmerfest spies tell me that its going to be powered by an up-rated variant of the twin turbo charged 3 liter N54 found in the 2011 335is (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=428680&highlight=335is). Horsepower will come in around 350 with about 310 ft/lbs of torque, that's a lot of power in a little car!

Now sit back and enjoy the teaser clip from BMW and stay tuned to Bimmerfest.com to keep up to date on the BMW 1 Series M coupe news as it happens.

You will not leave the car
You will not give the key to anyone else
You will smile
You will have goose pimples
It's M Pure!

You will love it, but you have to wait for it.

Wow.. Awesome. If the normal M E90 and E92/E93 M3s are 60k with no options. I wonder how much cheaper the 1-series M will be. Could definitely end up being a nice little car to own without a doubt for the money if it's around the 40-50k mark.
