hands down the best looking exhaust setup IMO.:eeps: perfect tip choice (silverlines) and the way they place inner tip s a tad higher than outers is just right. those boys at mufflertech know what their doing

Looks great, are the pass side just dummy tips? what did that run you?

patshah

It's just dummy on the pass side... The tips are over a $100 a peice, so it adds up quick, but well worth it.

Man Pat, super clean. You can't even tell that it's a dummy tip on the right. Did you buy the whole system for the active pipes or just the tip and they added them on?

I purchased the tips and a magnaflow system that they installed for me with the "dual personality setup". The valve was re-welded back in to complete it correctly.

i passed smog no prob with my magnaflow, and i dont have resonators (i dont think resonators have anything to do with emissions thou)

yes, patshah has identical setup. same tips, same muffler, same installers. i initially wanted them to run the pipe to tie in the right side but the installers said it wasn't a good idea. i took their word for it. they really got their sh!t together.

Thanks Seven. Real tips can be done, but a crap load of fab work would have to be done with a really tight bend, so it just doesn't make sense. You would never know that the right side was dummy unless you actually get under the car...

Good work. Hard to tell those are fakes. I split out my pipe to the right side to make mine functional, but you're right, it is pretty tight in there. I'll post pics later underneath to show.

With the holes in the back but im still up on the air on which exhaust I should get. The body shop guy told me magnaflow is a real good exhaust for the 7 cause of the good pricing and also the deep tone noise.

Custom made bracket.... Had to grind down on the battery box and weld a custom made plate to it.

The audi LEDs were a compromise. I didn't have those planned at all and would have preferred stock, but we found out once we but the bumper in, it sat so far back from stock that the fogs were too long and to get them properly recessed in, we'd have to relocate the window washer fluid tank. No other fogs were shallow enough (asides from those crap cheap ones) so the only thing we could figure out were the LED strip. It's temporary for now until I can come up with a better solution...maybe just go with no fogs and short out the wires so I don't get errors....would basically look like scoops then.

patshah and my old car have the identical setup. it is different from all the others that have a magnaflow. we only replaced the muffler that is closer to the middle of the car (aka inboard muffler). this was replaced with a magnaflow part# 14445. it can be purchased here

Hey Pat,

I just ordered the magnaflow muffler for my 7 and am having it installed next week. Now my question is you say that the valve was re-welded back in, what valve are you speaking of?? Is this the same valve that you need to use the golf tee mod on to keep it open?? If so why have them re-weld it back on?

Also which hose do I place the golf tee in?? Is it the one that I circled in green or the one in red?

RawDog,

They re-welded it back in so I would have a "dual personality". (Quiet during normal driving and beast when put on a load) Now I find myself giving it more hell, so I want to leave it open for a while until I get sick of it.
The golf tee method is new to me and I don't know much about it. I have seen where the vacuum is disconnected in the left side of the truck or where there are metal straps physically holding the valve open under the car. Maybe you might be better off if you want it loud all the time to leave the valve out completely.

What happens when the temp gets low and you can see smoke coming out of only one side?
What happens when someone walks by and hears the exhaust, see the tips shaking, only on one side?

I'll tell you whats going to happen, people are going to point and laugh. Im very surprised at this 7 crowd...

Im not trying to offend anyone, "troll", or anything. I just think this is cheapy and shouldnt belong on a 7

That's a good question, but living in Indiana most of my life (where it's pretty cold in the winter) i can tell you that it's not uncommon to have exhaust only coming out of one pipe at a time. Every car that i've had with dual exhaust (i've had 4) smoked predominately from one side--at least while at idle.

its the same with the e65's, there is ALMOST no space to do duals but u can still run a pipe there without cutting the metal, its just a real tight fit.

i do not like the fake tips, but people like what they like
