I'm going with you don't remove it without breaking it. I tried to remove mine very carefully this weekend and failed miserably. One tab broke completely off, the other three were all fatigued and promptly broke off upon re-installation and trying to get them to line up. On the ones that would line up with the clips, the clips were shot.

I've ordered the new mirror cover and clips for about $50 from my local dealer. I'm picking them up tonight and having the cover painted tomorrow.

You have to remove mirror glass to gain access to tabs, I did it last month

Interesting.....just for future knowledge, how did you remove the mirror glass?

Thanks

Have to tilt mirror glass facing the ground towards the car if I remember correctly, and then use a flat head screw driver to pop it off of the four attachment points. The glass pops right back on when installing. So its a pop on pop off type of thing going on lol. I should just start shooting videos when I do this stuff, but I'm always by myself when working on my cars.

Now that I have the replacement tabs I can see that is how it would work. So I point the mirror to the ground and I will have access to the mirror attachments which, will then give me access to the cover attachments. Thanks.

Me too...so I got one of these little flexible/grippy tripod things. They are awesome; you can put them on any weird uneven surface, wrap them around stuff, put the camera at odd angles...and they're cheap!
