It's supposed to be a 2004...
however, I found a motorola V90 that my wife used to own, and I tried to put it in the phone cradle in the center console, but it was too big to fit.
Aslo, I appearently have a NAVI01 unit in the truck.

here's the VIN: WBAGL63444DP68664

is it an 04?

thanks!

correct because i think the DVD one didnt come till 2005/2006 unless it was ordered with the car.

it's odd though. b/c the Part numbers printed on the NAV drive are for a NAVI02 (65.90- 6 942 166-01), but when I had the DVD's ordered from the BMW dealer (after they checked to make sure that they ordered the right ones) they don't work.
The faceplate is from a NAVI01.
.
.
This car is bugging the crap outta me...
at least nothing has been essential.

The problem is you have DVD Maps but you have a CD Navigation so it wont work (it has to say DVD on your Navigation unit to play those DVD's). They gave you the wrong ones.. d=0(

65 83 9 197 611 <----You would need one of theses DVD sytems to play that DVD Map
65 83 0 413 509

so the part number is wrong? all my research shows that is a NAVI02 p/n.
Like was posted in the other thread, the label may have been replaced, but whoever did that did a stellar job, as it is on there with no bubbles or pulling like I would expect from a non-factory replacement.
There is a gentleman on here that offered to send me a cd to test it out.... I guess I'll wait for that.

But those DVD's would be the right ones if I had a NAVI02?

The problem is you have DVD Maps but you have a CD Navigation so it wont work (it has to say DVD on your Navigation unit to play those DVD's). Seriously?

The 65.90-6 942 166-01 is a DVD GPS Navigator (NOT a CD unit) used in different models including the BMW 7-Series
You may view pictures here and see that "DVD" is on the front (second pic.)
