I don't know for sure, but you might ask the E46 guys. The Z4 is probably similar.

If it is teh standard Alpine changer, you probably need something like a BlitzSafe adapter.

E46 guys are using them to install XM radio, and if they want to keep the changer, they have to switch to the Alpine branded version.
