Do any of you have your gaming machine(s) hooked up to a projector or large TV? Very necessary.

Synergy is also a great free tool for controlling multiple machines on your LAN from a single machine -- in the picture below I'm controlling both the laptop and desktop (big TV) from the laptop's keyboard and touch pad (to control one of the remote machines you just move the cursor off the screen to the left or right, up or down, depending on how you have it set up).

I am more of a hardware junky than a gamer these days. I used to build my own machines and still have one running. I just do not have the time anymore. I bought a Dell Xps gaming system and went to town on it instead. I upgraded the processor to an extreme chip and overclocked the he'll out of it and then I added a second geforce card and sli'd them together. The latest addition is a blue ray burner. It is a pretty system on a stunning 24" monitor. The sad part is that the rig is mostly used for iTunes and word processing! We do use steam and I still enjoy playing half life 2 at max resolution every now and then.
