Camshaft adjuster unit leaking?

bmm e65 745i N62 engine 87 miles

when decided to repalce spark plugs the leaking was found around canshaft adjuster motor, decided to replace the gasket. Very simple remove 4 screws reove the unit replace the gasket.... but!!! looks like the unit is controolling the eccentric shaft, and may be it needs calibration.

the result is not that cool: no leaking but the negine is not that smooth....:(
no check engine lights but still not working good.......

i think i need to see a delaer now.

btw: i saw this leaking almost on every E65, no its not bad, but does not look good, its very dirty and makes your valve cover gasket look bad.


any suggestions?

It will recalibrate as necessary on its own, the eccentric shaft sensor at the back of the head helps with that and determining position in general.
