Hey guys. I was in Hawaii all week on a photoshoot...glad to be back! Boy was it humid there...

Anyhow, before I left the Coupe threw me an airbag warning light. Took it down to my mechanic and the code read "Right side airbag failiure". I figured since it's still CPO'd I'd just make an appointment and have it fixed at the stealer...

However, someone had mentioned something about the SRS system being warranted for 100,000 miles or something. Is this true? Do I not have to pay the $50 CPO deductible?

Thanks for any help!

I am not sure with BMW, but with Acura and Toyota, it is true that they warranty the safety item for 100,000 miles. I think it might be the law.

No, based on my scan of the Service and Warranty Information book in my owners manual packet.

Yeah, apparently it was a myth. I went in to see the service advisor today and he said there's no such warranty -- in fact, the CPO warranty does not even cover the airbag modules themselves -- just the control unit. Most likely that's what it is, though, he said, because the airbag module shouldn't fail -- no real moving parts.
