If they were the same price and you could do it again -> would you take the convertible version of your car?...why?

thats tough...a conver..is sweet but you have to take other things into consideration...insurance is much more on a conv... also if i get only 3 months in a year of warm weather then no

When I drove an E46 M3 convertible, the thing that struck me most was the body flex. I used to own an E36 M3 coupe, and it felt a lot more solid around corners. From what I hear, the new convertible is way better than the old one, but it still bothered me. I really like convertibles, but I really want the car for performance, and a convertible detracts from that. Plus there's no spoiler on the convertible M3 ;)

On the other hand, if I were going to get a 330i, I'd might opt for the convertible. My priorities would be different in that case.

Probably...

The E46 cabrio is very stiff, but there is still body flex but it is fine for street driving. There is something very special about open top driving on beautyful days, especially at night :)

Due to the short convertible season in New England, my answer is no. I do prefer the sedan. In a warmer climate...I would take the convertible.

From a practicality standpoint, I agree with MAK. However....

If there is anyone here who has riden a motorcycle on a hot summer night...I guess my sense of motoring passion would win out, and good sense be damned!! :D

I love the conv, but since I am insane about rattles and such, the conv seems to be open for more of these annoying things that drive me insane ;)
