..when in-d-haus and I were at the Griots Technical session (http://www.beemerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4701)..they recommended only 20-30 mins. in between times that you apply the next coat of wax if you so choose to do so. I've always assumed one should wait about 24 hours but apparently not with Griots Carnauba or Best of Show wax.

Is this a common practice to apply more that one coat of wax per detailing session? :dunno:

On the demo car, a '91 M5, they applied 4 coats.

ok.. but what is the benefit of this?? Does it make the shine deeper? and or make the wax last longer?
Excuse my ignorance but..
I really have no idea..that is why I am asking. :D

Longer endurance, extra protection, you're basically "waxing the wax" after the first coat, but your layering it. Every time you wash your car, you are in essence removing a micro thin layer of wax. If you have more than one coat on, you help the longevity of it. It can be "theraputic" if your OCD like Al is too. ;) Anyway, 2 is enough for one "session" for me. Anymore than that and I get really bored, really fast!
