I just purchased the 2011 535i xDrive y'day (9/25) and paid $59,745

The options I chose:
Base ($51900) + Black Metallic ($550) + Cold Weather Package ($1050) + Premium Package 2 ($4500) + Premium Package ($1800) + Split fold-down seat ($475) + Rear-seat entertainment ($2200) and destination charge of $875

Total MSRP comes to - $63,350 (above prices I showed are the MSRP ones)

The Invoice for the same comes to $58,830, and I paid $59,745, so its like $915 above Invoice price....Just wanted to know if its a fair price I paid !!

I just realized that the invoice price for this vehicle is different on both Edmunds and the Amex Auto program (http://amexnetwork.zag.com/main.html). The Edmunds has the $47,750 vs. the Amex's $48,335 a difference of $585 !!!

For the configuration I showed above I used the Amex's invoice and if I use the Edmund's pricing, it comes to $58,245 !! So I paid $1,500 above Invoice...I think its pretty steep given most of the guys on the forum paid $500 to $750 above invoice and I heard some even below the Invoice !!

It's harder to figure out now that BMW has MACO, training fee etc (the Edmunds always omit these from their invoice, also European delivery charge none of the above). Then there is doc fee and free carpet from dealer. So when you decide to compare prices down to $100-$500 be careful, someone with $1000 above invoice with free carpet + $50 doc fee is better off compare to someone with $500 over Edmund invoice w/o $135 carpet and $300 doc fee (then also get charge MACO and training fee).

Just something to think about, not to mention if there is trade in. Buying car is so much fun:bigpimp:

Thank you. Actually I was charged $75 extra for the Doc fee above this $59,745 I paid. I was not charged any MACO and the training fee. I heard this MACO and training are location specific and that NY might not have these charges, but not sure though. And what is this free carpet ? never heard of this one...

And yes, I had a trade in as well (2002 BMW 323i with 85K on it) and the dealer said he will give 5K for this !!! while KBB says $7,675 under excellent condition and in worst case $6,225 under fair condition !!

I tried searching on their we site and I have never seen price bellow invoice (usually $1.4k above) e.g.:

http://amexnetwork.zag.com/configurator.html?makeId=2217&modelId=49&upfrontPricing=Y

What am I doing wrong ?

Sorry I meant floor-mat.
Just another item some people get for free and other have to pay, I just use it as example on some deal can get sour fast w/o knowing all the details.

Enjoy your new car, you did well on the price.

Floor mats are standard issue for the '11 5 series.
