What are the odds that BMW will put the X-drive AWD system into the 2005 E46's? Has there been any speculation on this?

I'm guessing it's highly unlikely with the E90 coming soon, but they did redesign the X5's AWD mid cycle, so it got me thinking....

By searchign I realized that it is expected that the 2005 will be the E90. So I guess my question is whether the E90 will have xDrive. Maybe I should move this to the dealer forum. I think those guys check there most frequently.

I'm also curious whether the E90 wagon will make it to the US.

Nothing like asking them lots of questions we know they don't know the answers to yet. :eeps:

xDrive is bmw's new AWD system. It's an improvement over the old system.

By the way, TedW answered my question here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45275

Everything!
The old system has an open center differential and relies on ABS to brake the spinning wheel(s). xDrive uses an electrohydralic active center differential with dynamically variable front-to-rear torque split.
