I think that using truck freight and six cans of expanding foam is what did it. Truck freight removed it from the pallet. They kept it upright though based on no oil leaking out of the vent.
More to come.

I'll bet you had a hell of a time "extricating" it from the inner box;)

Bummer that your right hand man is out of town, I'd help you if we were living closer together.

When I pulled mine out to change the spider, it probably took less than two hours to R&R.
I spent the most time putting the lube in with a 200cc (2oz.) syringe!!

I "might" get a chance this Saturdayto pull the cover off the 99 to see what's in there.
I need to do some serious spring cleaning on it after its winter tour of duty.

My right hand man called tonight. Never got into the diff. since he had to go eat his salad.
Will place the rear of the car up on stands Friday. Drop the exhaust (easy) and the diff. if I can. Shouldn't be a problem.
Have some folks coming over Saturday that may be able to help, if I can't.
Based on the loss of strength in my hands, not sure if I can do the install by myself. Will figure something out.

Looking forward to getting your review of how the upgrade goes...Lord knows the logistics that you went through to get the diff over intact :)

One question, once these are all gone what's the solution? Or is BMW sourcing more 3.46 differentials as 3.0 auto replacements?
