Hi,
I had to turn in my car to the dealer today as the remote keys won't work. Cant lock / unlock the car with the keys. I have to hold the key really close to the steering columns to start the car.

I thought this is an easy fix. But dealer had kept it all day today and says that htey cant figure out whatz wrong.....Running on a loaner right now....

Did any one else had the same problem on 2011s?. Dealer says they have contacted BMW tech support to fix this....

My car is < than 2 weeks old..... wat the F... ever ..... this is frustrating buddies

Dead batteries. If the battery dies you have to hold the fob right up against the column where the markings are. It's all in the owner's manual.

Yes and that is how I got the car to start and drove around.... But the issue is they cant figure out if it's just battery issue or something else. I will keep u posted on this one....

Hey, checkout thread below. Maybe the same thing that happened to a few of us. My car was brand new too at the time

Does the battery say "Made in China"? Mine did and I replaced with a better one...no problem since then. I had low remote battery warning on the instrument cluster display.
